I am a professional writer recently relocated to Kanagawa, Japan from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
My recent experience includes positions as a proposal writer & coordinator for a major health, wealth, and lifestyle benefits management platform in the United States and an IT contractor that has provided various IT and professional services to U.S. Department of Defense and Civilian Government agencies for more than 30 years. I graduated with my M.A. in English from George Mason University in May 2016. I received my B.A. in English from Christopher Newport University in May 2012. |
As a Proposal Writer, I have coordinated more than $15 million worth of winning proposal efforts in the Federal and commercial spheres, and contributed to more in the capacity of writer, knowledge manager, and administrative lead. Through graduate courses such as the Theory and Practice of Editing, I developed professional writing skills that are applicable in many fields. As a research assistant I honed my skills in professional research as well as social media management, and as an intern with a small federal government contractor, I was exposed to many different types of professional documents. Mainly I helped write and edit proposals and edited engineering documents including Test Procedures and lab reports. I also contributed substantially to the design and structure of the company's marketing materials. These experiences have shaped my professional goals for the future. I am well on my way to becoming a Proposal Manager. On the "Writing Samples" page, you will find a profile I wrote which helped spur my interest in that particular career arc. |
